Favourite Christmas Films: Top 5

This was so difficult to do, because narrowing down my list of favourite Christmas films to a top 5 means cutting out ones that I really love. There are another 2/3 that so nearly made it to the list, and even as I'm writing this little introduction to the post I'm considering swapping them in or changing the blog post title to top 8! I love Christmas films, as you can probably already tell, and it just doesn't feel like the festive season until you begin watching and re watching all the Christmas films you own! I have been gradually making my way through the collection I have, and thought I'd share with you 5 of my favourites that you may or may not have heard of:

Topshop Winter Wardrobe Wishlist

I have a huge love of Topshop clothing, and it takes all the restraint I have not to shop there all the time. However, this doesn't stop me browsing their website and shops and picking out favourite items, imagining myself wearing them! This season is no different, and I really think Topshop have the party season well and truly nailed, and have some amazing pieces that I have been dreaming about wearing! I thought I'd narrow my favourite pieces down to a reasonable amount and share my ulitmate favourites from their store and website with you, creating my Topshop Winter Wardrobe Wishlist.

Christmas Playlist

I fricking love Christmas music, and the moment it gets to December 1st I start blasting it to make the most of the month when it's acceptable to play them! I think my housemate in the room next to me must be sick of me playing this playlist, because it has literally been played on repeat for the past week! I personally really love this playlist though, and think it has a good mix of the classics and modern festive tunes by some of my favourite artists, so I thought I would share it with you all to spread the festive spirit- enjoy!

Christmas Q&A

Do you do anything to countdown to the day?
I usually have an advent calendar and open a door a day- not all of them at once, or eat 1 week at a time! When I was younger I also used to cross the days off on my calendar.

What decorations do you put up?
When I was at uni I last year I put up loads of decorations. I had snowflake stickers on my bedroom window, baubles and bells on ribbon strung along one of my walls, and tinsel along shelves. This year I'm living in a house, and we have had a small tree and Christmassy fairy lights in the lounge since the middle of November! I'm pretty sure we'll be buying some tinsel to put around the house at some point too! At my family home we always get a real Christmas tree which is decorated beautifully by my Mum with lights and baubles. Then we have a wreath outside the front door, lights on the front of our house, and Christmas decorations dotted around the house.

Do you have a proper Christmas dinner?
We always have a Christmas dinner, but it not always on Christmas day itself.

When do you open gifts?
On Christmas day we're usually all awake by 8:30/9:00am, and we all sit in my parent's bedroom and open presents in our stockings. Then we'll open the rest of the presents throughout the day stopping for meals and tv shows/films in the evenings. Although, we're all very slow at opening presents in my family, so present opening has been known to continue until the evening!

What's on your Christmas list this year?
Breville Blender (so that I can make smoothies at uni)
Doctor Who box sets 5 & 6
Woman in Black book by Susan Hill

Favourite thing about Christmas?
I love the excitement and happy feeling I wake up with on Christmas morning, and the way there's something so warm about spending the whole day at home with my family. Another favourite part is watching the Doctor Who Christmas special every year!

What's your favourite thing to eat on Christmas day?
It would have to be the roast potatoes my Mum makes when we have Christmas dinner, or the homemade Gluten Free profiteroles which are just heaven!

Do you have any Christmas traditions?
Opening stockings as soon as we wake up in the morning.
Going into my sister's room as soon as I wake up.
Watching the Strictly Come Dancing and Doctor Who Christmas specials.

What time do you wake up on Christmas day?
Usually it's between 7:30 and 8:00am

Favourite Christmas outfit over the years?
My most memorable outfit was the one I wore at Christmas in either 2004 or 2005, pictured in the photo at the top of this post. I loved the dress, and my sister had a similar one which she wore on the day too.

If you could have Christmas dinner with 5 celebrities, who would they be?
Michael Clifford
Taylor Swift
Matty Healy
Harry Styles
Emma Stone

What is your favourite Christmas film?
I have a lot of favourite Christmas films, but if  had to choose one, I think my favourite would be the film adaptation of Terry Pratchett's 'The Hogfather'.

What are your top 3 Christmas songs?
Ariana Grande - Santa Tell Me
Leona Lewis - One More Sleep
Mariah Carey - All I Want For Christmas Is You

FOTD | Rimmel London Easy Everyday Makeup

This is the first makeup look post I've done on my blog as I'm always nervous to post something like this because I'm in no way a makeup expert. However, I do love makeup, and have been really loving my everyday makeup look at the moment and the products I use to create it, so I thought I'd share it with you. I am in no way an expert, and I'm sure a lot of people could create this look much better than I with contouring, smokey eyes, and highlights, but this is just my very simple and realistic everyday makeup, which I hope is relatable and achievable for all of you like me.

Foundation - Rimmel 'Wake Me Up' Foundation, Light Porcelain
Concealer - Rimmel 'Wake Me Up' Concealer, Ivory
Powder - Rimmel Stay Matte Pressed Powder, Transparent
Mascara - Rimmel Scandaleyes Rockin Curves Mascara
Liquid Eyeliner - Rimmel Scandaleyes Precision Micrio Eyeliner
Lipstick - Rimmel Lasting Finish by Kate Moss, 008

I love Rimmel London products, and think they create great makeup looks, yet are still so affordable. They're definitely my favourite drugstore beauty brand, and whilst this is a Rimmel London dedicated makeup look, this is also genuinely my everyday make up look! I love their Kate Moss lipsticks, and as well as the shade 008 that I'm wearing in these photos, I love the shade 001 and think it's the perfect Winter/Christmas red! I also swear by their concealer, and after using it for the past 2 years, I very rarely buy any others!

I hope you enjoyed this makeup post, and if you'd like to see similar sorts of posts on my blog in the future let me know, and I can try and brush up on my makeup skills!
Do you have any favourite Rimmel products?

ASOS Pinafore Galore

Asos' pinafore/jumpsuit pinafore game is so strong at the moment! And with the pinafore being back in, where better to shop for one of your key Autumnal wardrobe pieces?!
I loved wearing pinafores when I was younger, and I was so happy when I bought a pinafore for the first time since primary school earlier this year! I wear it to death, and I am now desperate to get some more and build up a collection of pinafores. I think they're just so easy to style and look so quirky and fun!
Asos have a big range of pinafores and pinafore dungarees/jumpsuits at the moment, and so I thought I'd share with you my top picks from their selection. I especially love the patchwork denim pinafore!
Which one is your favourite?

October Favourites

Simple Purifying Cleansing Lotion
I've recently switched to using this moisturizer because I was beginning to feel like my skin was getting drier now that it's colder outside. I didn't really expect to find a difference, but since using it my skin feels much fresher. I tend to use it twice a day, once in the morning before putting on my makeup, and then at night, usually just before I go to bed. If you're looking for a new moisturizer to try then you should definitely have a go at using this one!

Instagram Month Round-Up #4

I know I say this in every one of these posts, but oh my word has this month whizzed by! It's Halloween tomorrow! And then it's November!! Where has October gone?!
I think part of the reason October feels to have gone so quickly is because of how busy it's been for me. I've been so inundated with projects that I haven't had time to stop and watch the weeks past by. Despite the stress of juggling intense projects, I am in fact loving uni life, and really feel like I've settled into 2nd year well and truly! Although, my work load doesn't show signs of stopping or relaxing anytime soon, so I know November is probably going to go by at the same rate!
I have given myself a few breaks every now and then though, and have been out with my wonderful housemates a couple of times. I've also spent some time sorting my room out to make it look how I want, and I'm super happy with how it turned out [pictures of my new uni room are in this post]. I've also had time to wander around Winchester and snap a few pretty Autumnal photos- it looks so pretty with all the leaves on the ground!
I'd be lying, though, if I said I wasn't missing home and my family. Especially with it being a year since my sister graduated, and remembering meeting up with her, my parent's, and grandparent's this time last year. Also, I've been really missing my beautiful cat, Ella, and I cannot wait to see her and hug her in a couple week's time!
However, in the meantime, I am super excited for Halloween tomorrow, and I can't wait to dress up and put on some gory makeup! Also, November is going to be such an exciting month for me with a couple of concerts lined up (Max Jury, and The 1975), so I look forward to sharing all of that with you!
Hope you've all had a lovely October- let me know what you've been up to this month, and what your plans are for Halloween and November!

Staying Organised at University

Staying organised at uni can be a real task on it's own. Add in running a blog, plus having a social life and down-time, and it becomes extremely hard to balance it all!  This year I decided I wanted to make sure I stay on top of it all, and have adopted a few techniques in order to make sure everything gets done, with a little time for myself to spare.

Instagram Month Round Up #3

September's over?!?!
I cannot believe just how quick it went! A lot happened this past month, so maybe that's why it seemed to go so fast for me. After having a final farewell to my friends going off to uni at the beginning of the month, I then was on holiday in Cornwall for a week with my family. I loved our holiday of Cornwall, and it was great to explore a new part we'd never been to. It was also great to shut off from the world and relax, but also enjoy walks around the area, and visit places like Melinsey Mill, The Hidden Hut, and Trelissick Gardens.

I'm so happy! Autumn is my absolute favourite season, for many reasons, and I thought I'd share with you all what those reasons are:

September Favourites

'Pitch Perfect 2' DVD
I am obsessed with the first Pitch Perfect, and this second one is no different! I didn't see it in the cinema, so I only recently saw this for the first time. I was really worried that it wasn't going to be as good as the first film, because it had set the bar really high which meant it had a lot to live up to, however, all my worries vanished and I love Pitch Perfect 2 just as much as the first! I'm pretty sure it won't be long until I can quote the entire film!
