I know how most '2016 goals' posts are written as soon as January starts, but I personally take January to think about what I want to achieve over the next year, so, for me, it makes more sense to write my goals now after having a month of thinking about it. I love reading these posts and find them really inspiring, so if I can give you guys some enjoyable reading and new year inspiration, then I'll be happy!

My uni project work means a lot to me, and is a huge part of my life, so is obviously something I want to continue working on and improve. I always strive to make each project's work better than the last, and I really want to enhance the quality of my work this year as my fashion design course becomes more intense and more important.

My fashion design course is really intense and stressful, and during term time a huge majority of my time is spent working on projects 7-days a week. Whilst this is the commitment you have to make when you take a course like fashion design, it can sometimes consume your life too much, and this is definitely what I feel has happened over the past year, which generally led to an unhealthy attitude towards my work. I love my course, and I couldn't imagine myself doing anything else, however, this past year I have spent too much time on work and stressing over my projects, to the point where I would feel guilty when I wasn't doing work. This meant I sacrificed all free time for chilling, socialising and joining clubs, and eventually burned-out all energy I had. For this reason, this year I decided to change my attitude, and whilst a lot of my time is spent on work, I am making sure I allow myself breaks, which has already made such a difference in giving myself a healthier mindset.

I am determined to get fit and healthy this year! I am not a sporty person- I never have been. Nor am I a healthy eater- I love chocolate way too much and with a One-Stop around the corner from my house and a Tescos a 2 minute walk in the other direction, I am constantly buying chocolate. However, this year I really want to make a conscious effort to get healthier. I will never be able to diet- I'm just not a dieting person- but I want to try and eat healthy meals, and cut back on the amount of chocolate I eat. Plus I want to get fit, and in attempt to do this (and have a break from uni work) I have started a gym class called 'BodyJam' which I go to every Tuesday. I'm really not a gym person, so I wanted to find something I enjoy doing to help me get fit, and Body Jam is so perfect- it is kind of a mix of Zumba and dance, and doing it with a few of my friends just makes it so much fun, so it doesn't even feel like I'm working out!

I don't have a goal in terms of a number, however, my goals to do with blogging are to just to continue to regularly post content I love writing and creating, and am proud to put up. I want to try out new posts, but also continue to put up outfit posts, which are some of my favourite ones to do. I also really want to feature more of my fashion design work, whether that's weekly posts/updates on what I'm doing, or maybe even video posts giving you a real insight into my uni life, but it's one of the main reasons I started up this blog, so I want it to become a more prominent feature. I also want to try and be more creative with my content and not worry so much about conforming to the usual types of posts other people are doing, and create a space on the internet that really represents me, and what I'm about.

I want to say yes to things, and I want to make the most of my time and do things that I love and make me happy. This doesn't mean saying yes to everything and anything, but just allowing myself to not get tied down or restricted by the more serious things in my life that can sometimes consume me. Last year there were some really amazing, happy moments that I will treasure, but there were also a lot of tough ones- everyone has issues to deal with- but what I don't want is to let these things continue to rule my life, I want to be able to let go and move on. And as I write this all I can think is "wow this just got a whole lot deeper than I intended", but I like to be honest on here, and this is genuinely one of my biggest goals. I don't want to go over and over things of the past, I want to move forward and create new amazing memories everyday, make the most of my time this year and be able to look back on 2016 with a giant smile on my face.

I can't wait to look back on this post next year, and see how well I've reached these goals! Have you made any goals for this year? Share yours in the comments below, I'd love to hear from you all!
Thank you for reading!
